Personal Care and Support

The term is usually used to refer to support given with personal hygiene and toileting, as well as keeping up your personal appearance. These tasks could include undressing and dressing, bathing, showering, applying creams and lotions plus toileting.

Whether you chose to have a Hourly Care package or the complete Live-in care, Personal Care and Support can be included. You may need help with medications and bandages or only getting dressed. Just let us know and we will arrange the right help for you. Acquire Care can arrange for a fully trained carer to help with your needs in a discreet and professional way.

Whilst Personal Care can cover other duties, the main ones are:

  • Bathing or showering including bed-baths
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Oral hygiene
  • Applying lotions or creams
  • Applying make-up and doing hair-care
  • Foot care
  • Toileting including using a commode or bed-pan
  • Changing continence pads
  • Changing or maintaining a stoma or catheter bag
  • Preventing bed-sores by helping Clients move whilst they are in bed
  • Helping with shaving

All our carers are trained in personal care as well as administering medication and helping people with limited mobility. Please email or call us on 01865 601010 to see how we can help you.
